Empowering Learning is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Bedlington, Northumberland.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of additional learning needs, helping them to achieve their academic, social, and personal goals within a supportive and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching that meets the individual needs of learners and enables them to reach their full potential.



The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language Needs, and other additional needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external agencies
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and support the implementation of individual learning plans
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Is patient, adaptable, and committed to meeting the needs of individual pupils
  • Can build positive and effective relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within a primary, secondary, or specialist educational setting
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Ability to provide satisfactory professional references
  • Right to work in the UK
