  • Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day

  • Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Contract: Long-Term with Potential Permanent Opportunity

Long Term Futures are recruiting for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school from September. This role will be based primarily within the school's specialist SEN provision, supporting pupils across EYFS and Key Stage 1 who require additional support to access learning and develop key social, emotional and communication skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established SEN team, supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, developmental delays and SEMH needs. The provision offers a structured, nurturing environment designed to help pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role

  • Support pupils within the school's SEN provision across EYFS and KS1
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support based on individual learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Deliver structured interventions focusing on communication, early learning and social development
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and transitions throughout the school day
  • Adapt activities and resources to ensure all pupils can access learning effectively
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, the SENCO and wider support staff
  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews and target setting

The Ideal Candidate

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (preferred)
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN within EYFS, KS1 or a specialist provision
  • Strong understanding of Autism, communication needs and early childhood development
  • Experience working with EHCPs and targeted interventions
  • Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential
  • Team Teach, Makaton or relevant SEN training would be advantageous
