We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Walsall. This is a full-time role starting in May 2026 and running until July 2026, with the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Adapt learning resources and classroom activities to meet individual pupil needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support and progress

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for caring and motivated individuals who are passionate about supporting children within an inclusive educational setting.

  • Graduates and final-year university students from all subject backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient in supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to pupil development

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.
