We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and highly organised SENCo and Assistant SENCo to join our thriving all-boys secondary school in the B8 area of Birmingham. The Role
SENCo Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Oversee EHCPs, intervention programmes, and statutory processes
- Work closely with teaching staff, external agencies, and parents/carers
- Support staff in delivering high-quality inclusive teaching strategies
- Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and school policies
- Track progress and outcomes for SEND students across the school
Assistant SENCo Responsibilities:
- Support the SENCo in the day-to-day coordination of SEND provision
- Assist with interventions, assessments, and student reviews
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Help maintain accurate SEND records and documentation
- Deliver targeted support to students where required
- Contribute to inclusive classroom practices across departments
We Are Looking For:
- Qualified teachers with a passion for inclusive education
- Experience working with SEND students in a secondary school setting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, compassionate, and resilient approach
- NASENCo qualification (essential/desirable for SENCo role depending on experience)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
