An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to play a pivotal role in the delivery of two major healthcare developments with project values of up to £1 billion. Working within a highly respected, multi-award-winning architectural practice, you will contribute to projects that will have a lasting impact on healthcare infrastructure, patient experience, and communities across the UK.
This role offers the chance to work on complex, large-scale developments from detailed design through to construction and delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Architectural Technician, you will take ownership of technical delivery across significant healthcare schemes, ensuring design intent is translated into coordinated, buildable, and compliant construction information.
You will be a key member of the project team, working closely with senior architects, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver technically robust solutions on some of the UK's most high-profile healthcare projects.
This position offers a hybrid working model with flexibility to be based from either Birmingham or Shrewsbury.
What You'll Be Doing
• Leading the production and coordination of detailed technical and construction information.
• Managing day-to-day technical delivery during production information and construction phases.
• Producing high-quality working drawing packages with minimal supervision.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary design information and consultant inputs.
• Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations, planning requirements, and industry standards.
• Advising project teams on construction methodologies, materials, buildability, and technical solutions.
• Supporting BIM delivery using Revit and Level 2 BIM processes.
• Undertaking Designer Risk Assessments (CDM) and contributing to health and safety compliance.
• Liaising with statutory authorities, approval bodies, and external stakeholders.
• Supporting project quality assurance processes and technical reviews.
• Contributing to successful project delivery from concept through to completion.
What We're Looking For
You will be a technically accomplished professional with a passion for delivering complex projects and a strong understanding of construction detailing and technical coordination.
Essential Requirements
• Relevant degree, HNC/HND, BTEC, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience as an Architectural Technician/Technologist.
• Strong technical expertise across large-scale construction projects.
• Significant experience within healthcare environments, ideally with additional experience across other sectors including education or high-density residential.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, with extensive experience using it as a primary project delivery tool.
• Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction technology, and statutory requirements.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging fire safety regulations.
• Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
