An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a long-established and highly respected London contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering refurbishment, renovation and maintenance projects across the public sectors.

Operating across social housing, education, commercial, specialist and public building sectors, they are recognised for delivering high-quality projects while maintaining traditional values with a modern approach.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead the estimating function across a variety of refurbishment and construction schemes throughout London and the South East.
Projects typically include:
- Social housing refurbishment and regeneration
- Public buildings and education projects
- Planned maintenance works
- Specialist and heritage refurbishments
- Commercial refurbishment schemes
- Values between £200k – £1.5 million
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, ensuring commercially competitive and technically accurate bids are produced in line with client expectations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation
- Managing multiple tenders simultaneously
- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
- Identifying value engineering opportunities and potential commercial risks
- Attending tender interviews, site visits and pre-construction meetings
- Working collaboratively with operational and commercial teams
- Assisting in the development of bid strategies and procurement programmes
- Ambition and capability to progress into a senior management role, contributing to company strategy and leadership.
- Desire to mentor and develop junior staff as the department grows.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Estimator or Estimator position within the construction industry
- Strong refurbishment and main contracting experience
- Experience within social housing, public sector or refurbishment projects would be advantageous
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team environment
