Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Senior IT Business Partner to operate at the heart of a complex central government environment, shaping how technology delivers long‑term, mission‑critical outcomes across a large and high‑profile contract.

Job Overview

This is a very senior, front‑office leadership role operating at the intersection of account leadership, IT delivery and operational teams. The role brings clarity, analytical rigour and strong governance to environments where complexity, scale and competing priorities are the norm.

Working closely with Account Management, which holds overall commercial and contractual accountability, the Senior IT Business Partner acts as IT’s primary interface into the wider organisation. The role balances immediate operational demands with the need to protect long‑term service integrity, compliance and sustainability, ensuring technology remains aligned to customer and account objectives.

Job Description

You will engage with senior public sector customers and large systems integrator partners, providing IT leadership, assurance and insight. The role ensures that technology decisions are evidence‑based, risks are clearly understood, and delivery remains aligned with both operational needs and strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as IT’s senior point of coordination for the account across internal delivery teams, operational units and Account Management
  • Translate customer and account objectives into a clear, prioritised IT demand roadmap
  • Establish and lead governance forums that support high‑quality, evidence‑based decision‑making
  • Lead analysis of options, risks, dependencies and impacts to support senior stakeholder decisions
  • Engage with senior customer and systems integrator stakeholders to provide IT assurance, insight and strategic guidance
  • Line manage Business Analysts and Testers supporting the account
  • Ensure work entering delivery is clearly defined, appropriately prioritised and test‑ready
  • Identify, escalate and support the mitigation of cross‑functional risks and delivery challenges

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with public sector customers is desirable but not essential
  • Strong senior‑level stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to lead and embed innovation within complex environments
  • A confident and credible senior leader
  • Strong account management and partnering capability
  • Ability to influence, persuade and drive outcomes through delivery teams
  • Experience in customer success or similar roles is highly transferable
