About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Litigation Lawyer to join the Guinness Legal Team. This is a permanent, full ‑ time vacancy based in our London office. We offer hybrid working, blending office days with working from home.

The overall purpose of the role is to manage the Litigation Team and deal with litigation cases, in particular complex housing management litigation.

What we are looking for

You will bring significant expertise across all areas of housing litigation, including ASB, possession claims, disrepair, Equality Act claims, leasehold management, service charge disputes and debt recovery.

We are seeking someone who can communicate to a high standard, both in writing and in person, and who can present complex information clearly and confidently. You will manage a team and be highly organised, methodical, and detail‑focused, with a track record of meeting deadlines and working to targets. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, are essential.

You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:
  • Significant experience in all types of housing litigation, including ASB cases, claims for possession, disrepair claims, leasehold management, service charge disputes and debt recovery.
  • Ability to present information in a variety of forms to a high standard, including excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Leadership and Management Standard.

Desirable skills:
  • Previous experience of working in a housing association or public sector body.
  • Experience of managing legal staff.
  • Experience in other types of litigation.
  • Effective advocacy skills and experience of advocacy in courts and tribunals.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister (qualified to practice in England) or a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with equal practice rights (CILEX Lawyer).
