Senior MEP Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Senior MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and public health packages on a major residential development project.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the full MEP lifecycle from pre construction through commissioning, handover, and close out. The successful candidate will work closely with the client, consultants, contractors, and wider project delivery team to ensure all MEP systems are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Senior MEP Project Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all MEP aspects of a large scale residential project.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and public health subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee design coordination and technical reviews to ensure buildability and compliance.
  • Manage MEP programme delivery in line with overall construction milestones.
  • Monitor installation quality, commissioning activities, and final handover processes.
  • Chair MEP coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Review and manage RFIs, technical submissions, shop drawings, and commissioning documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, statutory, and building regulation requirements.
  • Drive value engineering opportunities while maintaining quality and performance standards.
  • Report progress, risks, and commercial impacts to senior leadership and client teams.
  • Support procurement strategy and subcontractor management.
  • Collaborate closely with site, commercial, planning, and design teams.

Senior MEP Project Manager ​​​​​​​Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Senior MEP Project Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong background delivering large residential or mixed-use developments.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems.
  • Experience managing projects through full project lifecycle from pre-construction to handover.
  • Strong technical coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex interfaces.
  • Good commercial awareness and contract administration knowledge.
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations and residential compliance standards.
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and relevant industry certifications preferred.
