Are you an experienced Planner looking for the opportunity to influence major projects from pre-construction through to delivery within a business with a strong secured pipeline and long-term growth plans?
We are working exclusively with a highly respected contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential, regeneration and community-focused developments across Central Scotland.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to join their team in Edinburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, forward-thinking business where you will play a key role in project success whilst working alongside experienced operational, commercial and delivery teams.
The Role
As Senior Planner, you will take ownership of construction programmes across multiple projects from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring programmes are realistic, achievable and aligned with operational requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing, managing and maintaining detailed construction programmes from pre-construction through to project completion
• Producing baseline programmes, target programmes, short-term lookaheads and progress updates
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure programmes are practical and aligned with site delivery
• Monitoring live projects, identifying risks, delays and opportunities whilst providing mitigation strategies
• Supporting bids and tender submissions with robust, fully resourced programmes
• Producing programme reporting for senior management and stakeholders
• Attending project meetings, progress reviews and site visits as required
• Ensuring programmes align with contractual obligations and industry best practice
What We Are Looking For
We are keen to speak with experienced Planners or Senior Planners who have a strong understanding of construction sequencing, project delivery and programme management.
Ideally, you will have:
• Previous experience working within a main contracting environment
• Experience delivering residential, social housing, regeneration or large-scale construction projects
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
• Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Project
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across operational, commercial and design teams
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
