Senior Planning Officer

Location: Harrow, Forward Drive, Harrow, HA3 f

Pay Rate: £38 per hour Umbrella

Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to join on a 6-month rolling contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with strong development management experience to work within a busy local authority environment.

Main Duties:

• Processing a varied caseload of planning applications, including complex minor applications and small-scale major developments
• Managing lawful development certificates and prior approval applications
• Carrying out site visits and assessments
• Providing duty planner and pre-application advice services
• Presenting applications and recommendations at Planning Committee meetings
• Managing appeal casework and preparing supporting documentation

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority planning team
• Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and development management processes
• Experience handling complex planning applications independently
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload effectively
