Responsibilities

Oversee the commercial and contractual management deliverables within the business with the common objective to successfully tender for & deliver projects for the business. Advise a multi-disciplined team of Project Managers, Operations Managers, Cost Controllers and other supporting roles in all commercial/contractual & contract administration matters.

  • Support the PMO to deliver in line with the project and business objectives
  • Fulfil the duties of a member of the Senior Management team.
  • Ensure the Project Delivery Teams embrace necessary change, assisting developing improvements through lessons learned.
  • Provide commercial support and direction to the operational team
  • Ensure legal & contractual compliance requirements are being met.
  • Co-develop strategic recommendations together with the PMO Manager and present to the Board for business changes relevant to project delivery ensuring we maintain sustainable commercial integrity and security.
  • Oversee all contractual management concerns throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Proactively engage with clients to support the negotiation and resolution of commercial/financial claims and project close-out.
  • Monitor project deliverables and ensure that project reporting is swift and accurate together with PMO Manager.
  • Provide commercial & contractual guidance in response to issues raised across the business support functions.
  • Drive a cost and risk management culture to ensure the projects are successful, identifying early risks, liaising closely with the Finance Department.
  • Monitor compliance against all company doctrine, policies & procedures and promote continuous improvement.
  • Provide support and advice to the Board on all requested internal projects and business matters.
  • Form part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
  • Support Marketing events, business development and promote Group globally.
  • Occasional travel to clients and strategic partners to promote strong relationships and support project commercial close-out.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Have extensive commercial management / contract administration experience
  • Have and maintain relevant academic qualifications at the highest level for a commercial manager
  • Have completed the management of all commercial aspects of projects to enable completion on time, within budget and to the correct standards
  • Extensive hands on project experience from high value projects
  • Strong organisational, leadership and time management skills
  • Demonstrate drive and creativity with approaching challenges and a logical solutions-orientated thinker
  • Have an amenable flair for building relationships including having the ability to lead, formally and informally, team members and cross business engagement without bias.
