The role

We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer (Office Based) to provide technical support to Field Service Engineers working on dispensing, weighing and vending machines in retail and public spaces.

This Service Engineer (Office Based) role is ideal for a mid career Field Service Engineer who wants to step away from field travel while continuing to use their technical knowledge, fault finding skills and experience with electromechanical equipment.

As a Service Engineer (Office Based), you will act as a key technical escalation point for the field team, supporting complex diagnostics, resolving faults remotely and helping to restore machines to operation quickly and effectively.

What you’ll be doing

•Provide office based technical support to Field Service Engineers working on electromechanical dispensing and weighing vending machines

•Diagnose faults and guide repairs over the phone using structured fault finding techniques

•Act as the technical escalation point for complex or recurring breakdowns

•Upload software, run remote diagnostics, and carry out self repair functions and system resets

•Work closely with fellow Service Engineers (Office Based) to share knowledge and improve fault resolution

Skills and experience

•Background as a Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer or Electro-Mechanical Technical Support Engineer working with electromechanical equipment and fault finding.

•Comfortable diagnosing issues and providing technical support by phone or remote connection

•Experience with sensors, electromechanical controls, software, or remotely connected systems

•Transferable experience welcomed from sectors such as CCTV, EPOS, barcode/QR code readers, remote door access systems, coin sorting, or mechanical handling equipment like conveyors, or small to medium industrial machinery.  We value engineers from different technical backgrounds, as this diversity of experience strengthens the overall capability of our engineering support team.
