Site Agent

Abatec is recruiting for a Site Agent to join their client, a leading regional contractor with a strong commitment to sustainable development and community-focused delivery.

The successful candidate will be working on a 4-year framework with Somerset County Council, focusing on Highways & Infrastructure projects, including remedial works on existing bridge structures and other civil engineering schemes.

As a Site Agent you will:

• Provide regular updates to the Contracts Manager on project progress, including budget, programme, and design issues.
• Ensure that health and safety standards and industry regulations are strictly adhered to on site.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and attending regular project meetings.
• Prepare, verify, and implement designs on-site in line with the relevant specifications and drawings.
• Foster career development by working in an environment where progression opportunities are available for those who are keen to advance.

Our client requires a Site Agent with:

• Valid CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certificates.
• Proven experience managing highways and earthworks projects.
• Strong understanding of construction health and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A relevant HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Salary and benefits include:

• £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
• Car allowance or company vehicle
• 27 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
• Enhanced pension contributions – employer contributions 7.5%
• Professional training and qualifications including chartership
