The Role
We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join our team, initially supporting remediation packages for Thames Water. These works involve the repair and remediation of two bridge structures and five trunk sewer barrels across both rail and road spans.
Currently in the design phase, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute from project conception on a complex, large-scale engineering package. You will work closely with Site Agents, Sub Agents, and fellow engineers to develop innovative solutions, proactively identify opportunities, and minimise risk throughout the project lifecycle.
This role also provides excellent scope for career development, offering exposure to cost management, programming, and contract administration. You will collaborate with the wider project team to develop site-specific HSQE documentation and ensure project delivery meets quality, programme, and commercial targets.

Site Engineering
- Establish and maintain level and survey control
- Accurately set out works in line with contract drawings, with regular checks
- Maintain accurate records in line with organisational and legal standards
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of:
- Project plans
- RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)
- Contribute to pre-construction activities, ensuring all permits and consents are obtained
- Support commercial awareness by identifying and documenting variations
- Assist with short-term planning and resource management
- Produce site diaries, allocation sheets, and photographic records
Key Measures & Targets
- Accurate and timely setting out of works
- Timely handover of quality records with no outstanding defects
- Accurate record-keeping, drawing registers, and weekly reporting
Key Relationships
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with:
- Site teams
- Project stakeholders
- Client technical representatives
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience setting out on civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, and legal requirements
- Proficient in the use of robotic total stations or EDM instruments
- Degree or HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented with a positive attitude
