Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a growing residential construction team delivering high-quality housing developments across Harlow and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale housing projects with a reputable contractor focused on quality, safety, and programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out for housing and residential infrastructure works
• Interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications
• Use GPS, total stations, and surveying equipment effectively
• Ensure all works are completed to required tolerances and quality standards
• Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and design teams
• Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate records
• Monitor progress and assist with site coordination
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within residential or housing developments
• Strong understanding of groundworks, roads, drainage, and plot works
• Proficient with surveying equipment and AutoCAD
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• CSCS card required
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Experience working with major housebuilders or residential contractors
• SMSTS or First Aid qualification beneficial
