Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to UPS3.

An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Brent is seeking a passionate Sociology Teacher to join its successful Humanities and Social Sciences department from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to inspire students across KS4 and KS5, delivering engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, debate and a deeper understanding of society and contemporary issues.

The Role

The successful Sociology Teacher will:

• Deliver high-quality Sociology lessons across KS4 and KS5
• Plan engaging and thought-provoking lessons that challenge and inspire students
• Assess and monitor progress effectively to ensure strong student outcomes
• Create an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will:


• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have strong subject knowledge within Sociology
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Be passionate about raising attainment and student progress
• Have the ability to engage and challenge learners of all abilities
• Work effectively within a collaborative department team
