Sous Chef – Royston, Herts
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Royston
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join a busy and well established gastro pub in Royston. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef looking to work within a fresh food environment that values quality, creativity and teamwork.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day to day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Assisting in menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Managing stock control and minimising waste
- Ensuring consistent quality across all dishes
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a gastro pub or fresh food environment
- Passion for high quality food and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Applicants must be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends
