Job Title: Teacher of Design & Technology (DT)
Location: Secondary School, Sutton, South West London

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, in line with experience (MPS/UPS)
We are working in partnership with a high-performing and inclusive secondary school in Sutton to recruit a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Design & Technology.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to join a well-resourced DT department within a school that values innovation, practical learning, and academic achievement.
The Role:
- Teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3/KS4), with potential KS5 depending on experience
- Deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons across DT disciplines
- Inspire students through hands-on learning and real-world design challenges
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the DT department
- Ensure high standards of health and safety in workshops and practical environments
- Monitor, assess, and support student progress to maximise attainment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- A degree or strong background in Design & Technology or a related field
- Experience teaching DT at secondary level (KS3/KS4 essential; KS5 desirable)
- Strong practical workshop skills and subject knowledge
- Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
- Excellent classroom management and a commitment to safe working practices
