Horizon Teachers are proud to be working on an exclusive basis with a highly regarded specialist school in South East London to recruit an experienced Primary Teacher for a PPA Cover position starting in the new academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and nurturing special school supporting children and young people aged 4–17 with complex social, communication and interaction needs, including autism and speech and language difficulties. The school has a strong reputation for delivering personalised learning pathways and creating an environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The successful teacher will provide PPA cover across the primary phase, with two of the four teaching days focused within the EYFS provision. As such, candidates with EYFS and Key Stage 1 experience will be particularly well suited to the role.

The Role:

  • PPA Cover Teacher across the primary phase
  • 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday)
  • Responsible for planning, preparation and assessment for allocated classes
  • Teaching pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism and speech, language and communication difficulties
  • No form tutor responsibilities
  • Working closely with experienced support staff and specialist professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching within UK primary schools
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, or a genuine passion for specialist education
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and/or KS1 curriculum delivery
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English
  • A flexible, proactive and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Experience beyond ECT level (this role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers)
