Aspire People is recruiting on behalf of a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Leicester for a full-time Teaching Assistant to start in September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a resilient, patient, and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting young people who may have faced barriers to education. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and academic support, helping them to engage positively with their learning and achieve their potential.
No two days are the same within a PRU setting, making this role ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, supporting individual needs, and making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.
The Role
Supporting students both in and out of the classroom
Assisting teachers with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
Helping to manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement
Building strong, professional relationships with pupils
Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children or young people
Experience within a PRU, alternative provision, SEN setting, or mainstream school is advantageous
Strong behaviour management skills
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
The ability to remain professional in challenging situations
A genuine desire to support young people in overcoming barriers to education
