Redbridge, London
Pay: £95 - £110 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (8:30am – 4:00pm)

About the Role:

Vocational Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Redbridge to appoint an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant for a Reception class role starting in September 2026.

This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Early Years team and play a key role in helping young children develop socially, emotionally, and academically during this crucial stage of their education.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support learning through play, deliver targeted interventions, contribute to observations and assessments, and help create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. Previous experience within EYFS and a strong understanding of the Early Years Framework are essential.

Key Responsibilities for the Early Years Teaching Assistant role:

  • Support teaching and learning within the Reception classroom
  • Assist with observations, assessments, and learning journals
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging EYFS activities
  • Support children's communication, language, and social development
  • Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions when required
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Support indoor and outdoor learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements for the Early Years Teaching Assistant role:

  • Previous experience working within an EYFS setting (essential)
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework
  • Experience completing observations and supporting assessments
  • Knowledge of child development and early learning goals
  • Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
