Technical Production Manager | Ferndown

Are you a technically minded production leader who thrives on ownership, precision, and delivering complex projects to an exacting standard? This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior authority role within a growing, specialist business where your expertise will shape the way projects are delivered from concept through to completion.

If you're the kind of person who sees a build pack and immediately identifies both the problem and the solution, this role was built for you.

Based at Workshop & Office, with regular UK and European venue travel

As a Technical Production Manager, you will benefit from:

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Contributory company pension scheme, with employer contributions of up to 8%
  • Annual company bonus equivalent to one month's pay, paid each December
  • Life assurance
  • Health cash plan
  • Online GP service
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee discount platform

As a Technical Production Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full technical ownership of working drawings, build packs, and production documentation across all projects
  • Leading and developing two direct reports, the Senior Project Manager and Workshop Manager, to deliver to the highest standards
  • Owning the production strategy, including workload planning, capacity management, and labour allocation
  • Providing technical input during design phases and leading value engineering discussions to optimise materials, cost, and build efficiency
  • Acting as the escalation point for complex technical and delivery challenges across the business
  • Championing quality, health and safety, and continuous improvement across workshop and site operations

As a Technical Production Manager, your experience will include:

  • A proven background in a senior production or technical role within a fast-paced, project-led manufacturing or events environment
  • Demonstrable experience producing and overseeing working drawings and build packs
  • Line management experience, ideally leading both project and workshop functions
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate technical decisions into budget and programme impacts
  • Solid knowledge of materials, finishes, structural interfaces, and AV or electrical integration
  • Familiarity with venue regulations, RAMS, and site compliance requirements
