Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Testing Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of IT testing activities and ensure the delivery of high‑quality products and services.

Job Overview

This role will play a central part in defining and implementing effective test strategies across IT projects, ensuring that testing activities align with client expectations and overall project objectives. The Testing Manager will provide leadership across planning, execution, and reporting, embedding quality assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating testing resources, managing stakeholder communication, and driving continuous improvement in testing practices. This role requires strong leadership capability, analytical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non‑technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and define the scope of testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain test strategies and test plans, including defining test types, tools, and environments.
  • Estimate testing resources, timelines, and budgets to support project delivery.
  • Set up, manage, and maintain appropriate test environments.
  • Allocate testing tasks to team members and monitor progress against plans.
  • Consolidate testing results and ensure defects and issues are accurately documented and addressed.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and new requirements to clients and stakeholders.
  • Monitor testing outcomes to ensure alignment with agreed quality standards and objectives.

Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT test management or a similar role.
  • Experience delivering large and complex IT projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks (preferred).
  • Previous people management experience is desirable.
