Town Planner - Remote Working

Location: Fully Remote (UK-Based)

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering expert planning advice across a diverse range of development projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking a motivated and ambitious Town Planner to join their expanding team on a fully remote basis.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting clients through the planning process, providing strategic advice, preparing planning applications, and engaging with key stakeholders to secure successful outcomes.

You will work across a broad spectrum of developments, gaining exposure to residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic land projects.



Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and managing planning applications from inception through to determination.
  • Producing planning statements, appeals, and supporting documentation.
  • Undertaking site appraisals and planning research.
  • Liaising with local authorities, consultees, and stakeholders.
  • Providing planning advice to a diverse client base.
  • Monitoring planning policy changes and legislative updates.
  • Supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex projects.
  • Attending meetings, hearings, and public consultations where required.


About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
  • Previous experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong report-writing and project management abilities.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach.
