Job Title: Town Planner/Senior Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established boutique Town Planning consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Planner / Planning Consultant to join their growing team.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and flexible consultancy environment. The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of planning projects and will take responsibility for:

  • Managing planning applications from inception through to determination
  • Preparing and submitting detailed planning reports and supporting documentation
  • Conducting site appraisals and feasibility assessments
  • Providing expert advice on planning policy, legislation, and development strategy
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Supporting the delivery of successful planning outcomes across a variety of sectors

The role is based in Kirkham and offers hybrid working flexibility.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Strong knowledge of UK planning regulations, policy, and legislation
  • Experience preparing planning applications and reports
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a client-focused approach
  • Experience engaging with local authorities and stakeholders
  • A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
  • RTPI membership or working towards chartership is desirable
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience using planning software and relevant industry tools would be advantageous
