We are currently recruiting for a number of Trainee Field Technicians to support water leak detection activities across the Medway area

This is an excellent opportunity to start a career within the water industry, with full training provided and no previous experience required.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (day shifts)

Training Provided Successful candidates will receive full training, including:

EUSR Water Hygiene
Unit 2 Street Works

The Role as a Trainee Field Technician, you will assist with water network leak detection by deploying and retrieving specialist logging equipment within District Metered Areas (DMAs).

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Installing noise loggers on water network assets, including fire hydrants and valves
• Deploying approximately 80–100 loggers per day
• Returning to retrieve the loggers after 24 hours
• Downloading and reviewing collected data to identify potential leakage activity
• Recording findings accurately and repeating the monitoring process as required
• Driving between various locations within your designated area
• The loggers are designed to capture leakage noise during quiet overnight periods, helping to identify hidden leaks within the network.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role that involves regular walking, bending, stretching and occasional lifting. Candidates who are comfortable driving for extended periods and working independently will be well suited to the position.

• Driver or Van Driver
• Multi-Drop Driver
• Meter Reader
• Field Technician
• Warehouse Operative
• Labourer
• Any practical, outdoor or manual working environment

Applicants must have:

• A full UK manual driving licence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
