Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage day‑to‑day transport activities to ensure materials and products are in the right place at the right time.
- Coordinate with production, warehousing, customer service and hauliers to align transport plans with demand.
- Ensure all carriers operate in line with health & safety, load security, time slot management and site procedures.
- Monitor and optimise transport performance using KPIs such as cost, OTIF, capacity and compliance.
- Use Transport Management Systems (TMS) to manage transport plans, visibility and reporting.
- Maintain accurate transport and freight data, producing routine performance reports.
- Identify and support cost‑saving, efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the transport network.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and company requirements.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transport planning role.
- Proven experience planning day‑to‑day transport activities within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Good working knowledge of Transport Management Systems (TMS) such as SAP TMS, Aptean, Paragon Routing & Scheduling, Transporeon or similar.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance within transport operations.
- Demonstrable understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing high volumes of work.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively and encourage others to achieve common goals.
- Competent user of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Confident use of email and intranet systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- CIPS, APICS or equivalent supply chain qualification.
- IOSH / NEBOSH health and safety qualification.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Turkish language skills (desirable but not essential).
- Proactive and solutions‑focused.

- Data‑driven with a strong attention to detail.
- Committed to safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Strong communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with hauliers, suppliers and internal teams
