About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations and ensure the efficient flow of goods throughout the business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 10–15 employees, driving operational performance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and championing health and safety standards.

You will play a key role in creating a positive working environment, developing team capability, and delivering operational excellence across Goods In, Storage, Inventory Management and Despatch functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Monitor daily warehouse performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and report results to the Operations Manager.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement effective solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained within SAP and investigate stock discrepancies through root cause analysis.
  • Manage stock counting processes, including annual stock audits and cycle counting programmes.
  • Oversee goods-in discrepancies and work closely with Purchasing and Finance teams to resolve issues.
  • Manage warehouse capacity and optimise storage utilisation.
  • Control overtime, absence management and holiday approvals in line with company policies.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching and development plans to support employee growth.
  • Calculate and administer monthly bonus payments accurately for permanent and temporary employees.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and warehouse policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules and compliance checks for warehouse equipment and materials handling equipment (MHE), including LOLER and PUWER requirements.
  • Act as Health & Safety Coordinator for the site and deputise for the Operations Manager when required.

About You

You will be an experienced warehouse professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading and motivating warehouse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, processes and best practices using Warehouse Management Systems, ideally SAP, including RF scanning.
  • Good understanding of inventory management and stock control processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritise workloads and perform under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing business needs.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

Forklift licences (Counterbalance, Reach Truck and/or Pallet Truck).

Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH.

Experience implementing Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

Automotive, mechanical or electrical industry knowledge.
