We are a leading UK supplier of professional catering equipment, specialising in the distribution and delivery of high-quality equipment to high-end restaurants, QSR’s, pubs and other hospitality venues. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations and lead our warehouse team.
Job Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring catering equipment is stored safely, prepared accurately and delivered on time. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all warehouse activities including goods in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Ensure accurate preparation of catering equipment for scheduled deliveries and collections.
- Oversee vehicle loading to ensure safe handling and secure transport of fragile and high-value equipment.
- Maintain an organised, clean and efficient warehouse environment.
- Manage stock control processes and full stock takes alongside our accounts team.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages or discrepancies.
- Implement procedures to minimise stock loss and equipment damage.
- Lead, supervise and motivate warehouse operatives and drivers.
- Conduct training, toolbox talks and performance reviews as required and feedback to Ops Manager
- Promote a positive team culture focused on accountability and efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- Ensure safe manual handling practices and equipment operation.
- Oversee compliance with PUWER and LOLER where applicable.
- Liaise closely with the transport and operations teams to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Support problem resolution where delivery or equipment issues arise.
- Maintain high service standards to support customer satisfaction.
- Arranging the return and restocking of equipment that is no longer needed to suppliers.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or Team Leader role.
- Experience within logistics, distribution, event services or equipment hire sectors desirable.
- Strong knowledge of stock control.
- Good understanding of UK Health & Safety regulations.
- Forklift licence (Counterbalance/Reach) preferred.
- HGV (7.5 tonne) preferred. Driving licence is a necessity.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills and ability to work under pressure and meet strict delivery deadlines.
