This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children in the foundation phase and creating an inclusive, positive classroom environment. As a Welsh-speaking Primary School Teaching Assistant in Newport, Wales, you will work closely with the Class Teacher to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support to pupils in the foundation phase as a Welsh-speaking Primary School Teaching Assistant in Newport
• Work in partnership with the Class Teacher to plan and deliver engaging activities
• Support the development of pupils' social, emotional, and academic skills
• Assist with behaviour management and help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere
• Support pupils with additional learning needs and language requirements
• Contribute to the overall organisation and smooth running of the classroom in Newport

Requirements

• Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent communication skills for this Welsh-speaking Primary School Teaching Assistant role in Newport
• Previous experience working with children in a school setting is desirable
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting children’s learning and development
• Available full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am to 3:30 pm)
