Workshop Engineer – Doncaster – £32-35k
Based in the workshop, you will carry out routine maintenance and repairs to mechanical handling equipment, plant, and machinery. This is an ideal position for an experienced engineer who would like to develop their skills further and move into field service in the future or an NVQ L2 qualified engineer who would like to stay in the workshop for the entirety of their career.
As the workshop engineer, you will:
Inspect plant coming into the depot and in conjunction with the workshop manager, carry out all agreed repairs and ensuring completed work is correctly inspected and holds a valid LOLER Inspection.
Completion of pre-delivery inspection on all new equipment as well as maintaining and preparing demo fleet equipment for customer/dealer requirements.
Part of these activities will include maintaining charge levels of traction batteries for the stock of electric powered equipment, unloading equipment, batteries, chargers etc, inspecting and producing a ‘goods received note’.
In order to ensure stocks are accurate, you will submit detailed parts requisitions, providing all information required for the computer job records and ensuring the correct parts are ordered accurately and in time.
Ensure that all documentation (including completed job sheets, time sheets, etc.) are fully completed as instructed and work areas are kept clean, tidy and organised.
To apply for the workshop engineer you must:
Already have experience maintiaining and repairing mechanical handling equipment, machinery or plant, ideally experience working with PDIs (detailed process drawings) from any engineering related industry.
Hold level 2 NVQ or equivalent in an engineering related subject and a keeness to continue development throughout your career.
Be PC Literate with excellent verbal and written communication skills and an excellent approach to customer service.
Benefits of the workshop engineer include:
Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, skills and abilities
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm (40hrs per week)
Holidays: Start on 25 plus 8 stats, this increases to 28 plus 8 stats over time
