Location: Salford
Salary: £95–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey?

Cover People are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Salford for a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build a positive relationship with one child, helping them access learning, develop confidence and thrive both academically and socially within a supportive school environment.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs.
  • Adapt learning activities to suit the child's individual needs and abilities.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and active engagement in lessons.
  • Support the child's social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and external professionals.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the wider school team.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs is desirable.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
