Timeplan Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1-1 Teaching Assistant to provide crucial support to a small group of pupils with Special Educational Needs at a well-respected primary school near Exeter City Centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 support and assistance to a small group of SEN pupils throughout the school day, helping them to achieve their academic and developmental goals.
- Utilise effective behaviour management techniques to support the pupils and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff and SENCO to develop tailored strategies and interventions to meet the specific needs of the pupils.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing atmosphere to enhance the pupils' learning experience and overall well-being.
- Utilise the provided resources and work closely with the school's inclusive approach to ensure the best outcomes for SEN pupils.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in providing 1-1 support to pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
- Strong understanding and experience in behaviour management techniques is essential for this role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both pupils and staff.
- A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for SEN pupils.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
