1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

The Supply Register

The Supply Register is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 child at a Primary school in LE67.

This is a full-time position starting in September and running until the Christmas break with chance of this being extended. You will be working closely with a pupil who has very specific needs, requiring a highly tailored, adapted timetable to help them thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil.

  • Implement and adapt a specific, personalised timetable to suit the pupil's learning and emotional needs.

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to monitor progress and adjust strategies.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.

Requirements
  • Must have proven experience working with SEND pupils (specifically supporting children with complex or specific individual needs).

  • Ability to follow and adapt specialised schedules and routines.

  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to behavioral and learning support.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
