1:1 SEND Tutor - Berkshire

Quantum Scholars

Remote-friendly Easy apply

Quantum Scholars is looking to expand its network of SEND Tutors, Mentors, LSAs, Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, and Support Workers across Wokingham ahead of growing demand for Alternative Provision and EOTAS support.

We are anticipating a substantial increase in referrals from September 2026 and are actively building our local team now in preparation for the new academic year. As a result, we expect plenty of opportunities to become available across Wokingham and the surrounding areas.

We work with children and young people who require a more personalised approach to education. Many of the learners we support have needs relating to SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, medical conditions, behavioural challenges, or EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance).

This type of work is often a great fit for those looking to move away from traditional classroom environments and towards more individualised support. Whether you're an experienced tutor, a support professional, or a teacher looking for a different challenge, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through 1:1 engagement.

Support is typically delivered on a 1:1 basis, helping young people rebuild confidence, develop positive routines, and re-engage with learning. Opportunities are available with both primary and secondary-aged pupils, and we will always aim to match tutors and support staff with the age groups and types of learners they feel most comfortable supporting.

Sessions may take place in community settings, student homes, or online where appropriate.

Hours can vary significantly depending on your availability and the referrals available in your area. Some individuals may take on just a few hours per week, while others may build towards regular, ongoing work that can be close to full-time.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in education, SEND support, youth work, pastoral care, behaviour support, alternative provision, or similar child-focused roles.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to travel within Wokingham and surrounding areas

What We Offer

  • Flexible opportunities around your availability
  • Ongoing referrals and long-term opportunities
  • Meaningful work with genuine impact
  • Competitive rates, dependent on experience

Please note that applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for these opportunities.

If you're passionate about supporting young people and want to be part of a growing provision supporting learners outside of mainstream education, we'd love to hear from you.
