About The School:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Primary School in Calmore.

The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access the curriculum and engage positively within the classroom environment. The school benefits from a supportive Senior Leadership Team, experienced SEND staff and excellent resources to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

This 1:1 Teaching Assistant role would suit experienced teaching assistants, support workers, childcare professionals, graduates looking to gain classroom experience, or individuals with a passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.

Contract/Position Details:

• Location - Calmore, Southampton
• Position - 1:1 Teaching Assistant
• Type of work - Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil within the classroom and school environment
• Key Stage - EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (dependent upon placement)
• Start date - November 2026
• Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing
• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/Part time - Full time
• Minimum rate of pay - £95.00 per day (rate dependent on experience, training and qualifications)
• Hours - 8:30am - 3:30pm

Experience, Training & Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
• Experience supporting children with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs is advantageous
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable (Prospero Teaching can provide this)
• Relevant Teaching Assistant, Childcare or Health & Social Care qualifications are desirable but not essential
• No specific teaching qualification is required for this 1:1 Teaching Assistant role

To Be Eligible For This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
