1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 9 Student (ADHD & Autism)

Duties as a 121 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support in lessons and around the setting
  • Supporting engagement, focus, and participation in learning activities
  • Implementing strategies to support ADHD and Autism-related needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Helping the student develop confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Liaising with teaching staff and SEND professionals to ensure appropriate support is in place
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student
Ideal 121 Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with ADHD and Autism
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Patient, calm, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
