Job Title: Customer Service Agent - 3 Month Fixed Term Contract
 
Salary: £24,784.50 pa

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Service Agent to join a busy and customer-focused team in Bishop's Stortford on a 3-month fixed term contract.
 
This role would be ideal for someone looking for a short-term opportunity, including those on a gap year, between studies or looking to gain valuable customer service experience within a professional and supportive environment.
 
Previous customer service experience would be beneficial, and this could be a great opportunity to develop your communication, administration and customer service skills.
 
Hours & Working Pattern:
  • 5 days per week
  • Monday to Saturday working pattern
  • Saturday working on a rota basis, with a weekday off in lieu
  • 3 month fixed term contract
Key Responsibilities for the Customer Service Agent role:
  • Handle incoming customer enquiries by telephone, email and online platforms.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
  • Listen carefully to customers, understand their needs and provide appropriate support and guidance.
  • Handle complaints and challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Aim to resolve customer queries at the first point of contact wherever possible.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
  • Follow company policies, procedures and customer service standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure all daily customer service tasks are completed efficiently.
Ideal Candidate for the Customer Service Agent role:
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, administration or a similar role.
  • An excellent telephone manner and professional communication skills.
  • Patient, calm and courteous with a genuine desire to help customers.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to understand customer needs.
  • Confident using computers, online tools and digital platforms.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Organised, reliable and keen to learn.
  • A positive team player who can also work independently when required.
