3PL Operational Performance Manager
Remote UK role
Ideal base South East, North West or East Midlands

We are delighted to be working with an international supplier of non-food FMCG items sold via multiple channels to both the B2B & B2C markets. These products are sold in high volume globally & move through a complex supply chain to the customer at pace.
This role is central to smooth running of the International inbound & outbound process.
Role: Communication, collaboration & measure.
This is a stand-alone role with no direct reporting lines into you. However, you will work incredibly closely with all around you including all touch points of the supply chain teams globally & likewise key suppliers within the 3PL warehouse & transport operations.
Everything inbound from landing in European ports will fall under your remit.
Coordinating the day-to-day execution of third-party logistics operations, working closely with 3PL partners, carriers, customers, and internal teams to support accurate, timely, and cost-effective warehousing, transportation, inventory, and fulfilment.
Success in this role means maintaining reliable day-to-day operations, strong working relationships with logistics partners, accurate information flow, and a consistent focus on service, cost, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Summary:
Supply Chain Operations: Coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of logistics activities, including warehousing, transportation, inventory, and order fulfillment. Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and carriers to optimize supply chain processes, reduce lead times, and enhance service levels.
Look to prevent bottlenecks with good analysis, process mapping & projecting possible issues ahead of the curve.
Travel to 3PLs in Europe will be needed in the short-term to get an understanding & feel of how they operate.
Deep dive & analyse overall performance across the supply chain. Report & present solutions.
Warehouse and Distribution: Work with warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Monitor inventory movements and stock information, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions with 3PL and internal stakeholders.
Transportation and Freight Management: Coordinate transportation networks, carrier relationships, and freight negotiations to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries. Track transportation and warehousing costs, validate operational charges, support budget planning, and identify practical cost-saving opportunities as well as areas for process improvement.
Customer Relationship Management: Provide timely operational updates, respond to logistics enquiries, align expectations, and coordinate the resolution of delivery or fulfilment issues.
Performance monitoring and Cost Control: Track relevant logistics KPIs and service levels, maintain accurate operational records, and escalate risks or recurring issues with clear context and recommended next steps.
Compliance and Documentation: Support accurate shipping and trade documentation and ensure logistics activities follow internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
Experience / Qualities required:
Hands-on experience coordinating external 3PL logistics providers, carriers, warehouses, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience monitoring operational performance, investigating issues, and coordinating corrective actions.
Knowledge of customs clearance and import/export processes, including commercial documentation, HS code classification, and coordination with customs brokers is highly valued.
