7.5T Driver

Location: Birmingham
Day rate: £15.00 per hour
Night rate: £16.00 per hour
Shift length: Approximately 10–12 hours
Start times: Afternoon and evening shifts

The Recruitment Group is currently recruiting experienced 7.5T Drivers for straightforward trunking and collection work based in Birmingham.

The position mainly involves A-to-B trunking runs, followed by a reload or collection before returning to the base or client. With limited multidrop activity, this is uncomplicated driving work offering average shifts of approximately 10–12 hours.

• Completing scheduled A-to-B trunking runs
• Collecting or reloading goods before returning to base
• Following planned routes and transport schedules
• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
• Ensuring loads are secure before travelling
• Completing all required transport and collection paperwork
• Communicating with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Reporting vehicle defects promptly
• Complying with drivers’ hours and Working Time regulations
• Maintaining a safe and professional standard of driving

You will need:

• A valid UK Category C1 entitlement
• A valid Driver CPC qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous 7.5T commercial driving experience
• A good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
• The ability to complete shifts averaging 10–12 hours
• Availability for afternoon, evening or night work
• A reliable and professional approach
• An acceptable driving record, subject to licence checks

Previous trunking or collection experience would be beneficial, although the work is straightforward and suitable for drivers from a range of 7.5T backgrounds.
