You'll be joining a small, independently run temporary accommodation service in Birmingham that works closely with the local authority to provide short-term housing for families while permanent accommodation is arranged. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience as an Accommodation Officer, Housing Assistant, Hostel Officer, Resident Liaison Officer, or from a similar resident-facing role within social housing, temporary accommodation or supported housing who is ready to take ownership of a rewarding position.
This role is offering the following benefits:
- Permanent contract
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Salary circa £28,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience)
- Stable daytime hours with no rotating shifts

In this position, you will be:
- Managing front desk operations and completing handovers with night staff
- Maintaining building security and carrying out regular welfare and building checks
- Conducting room inspections and ensuring residents adhere to property rules
- Handling administration including emails, bookings, check-ins and check-outs
- Liaising with the local authority regarding room availability and resident information
- Responding to resident enquiries and providing light housing-related guidance where appropriate
- Working independently and proactively managing tasks throughout the day
- Experience within social housing, temporary accommodation, homelessness or a similar resident-facing environment
- Confidence managing challenging conversations professionally and calmly
- The ability to balance empathy with firmness when enforcing policies and procedures
- Strong communication skills across face-to-face, telephone and email interactions
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good administrative skills and attention to detail
