You'll be joining a small, independently run temporary accommodation service in Birmingham that works closely with the local authority to provide short-term housing for families while permanent accommodation is arranged. This role is offering the following benefits:
  • Permanent contract
  • Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Salary circa £28,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience) 
  • Stable daytime hours with no rotating shifts

In this position, you will be:
  • Managing front desk operations and completing handovers with night staff
  • Maintaining building security and carrying out regular welfare and building checks
  • Conducting room inspections and ensuring residents adhere to property rules
  • Handling administration including emails, bookings, check-ins and check-outs
  • Liaising with the local authority regarding room availability and resident information
  • Responding to resident enquiries and providing light housing-related guidance where appropriate
  • Working independently and proactively managing tasks throughout the day

  • Experience within social housing, temporary accommodation, homelessness or a similar resident-facing environment
  • Confidence managing challenging conversations professionally and calmly
  • The ability to balance empathy with firmness when enforcing policies and procedures
  • Strong communication skills across face-to-face, telephone and email interactions
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good administrative skills and attention to detail

This role is based in Birmingham, providing temporary accommodation for families on behalf of the local authority.
