Account Director in Hackney, Greater London

Account Director | Digital Marketing Agency - London, Shoreditch, 2 days per week in the office, with flexibility.
We are looking for either an Account Manager ready to step up, or an Account Director to join a growing agency and to provide the bridge between clients and the team.

We are working with an ambitious, multi-service digital marketing agency in London that is looking for a commercially minded, confident and personable Account Director to join its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves building strong client relationships, understands how digital marketing agencies operate and enjoys bringing people together to deliver great work.

Working closely with the COO, you will play a key role in connecting clients with the agency's specialist teams, ensuring projects run smoothly, relationships flourish and opportunities for growth are identified.

The role

This is a varied, hands on position where no two days will be quite the same. You will be the person who keeps clients happy, teams aligned and everything moving in the right direction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and developing strong, trusted relationships with clients, becoming their go-to person within the agency.

• Acting as the bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring everyone is aligned on expectations, priorities and deliverables.

• Overseeing a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring campaigns and projects are delivered successfully.

• Working closely with the COO to support client services, improve processes and help the agency continue to grow.

• Understanding clients' business objectives and working with specialist teams to develop effective digital marketing solutions.

• Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and introduce additional agency services.

• Keeping a close eye on budgets, timelines, performance and overall client satisfaction.

• Bringing ideas, taking ownership and helping to create an environment where clients and teams can do their best work.

What we are looking for

We are particularly interested in speaking with people who have developed their careers within digital marketing agencies and enjoy the variety that comes with working across different services and clients.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven experience in an Account Manager, Senior Account Manager or Account Director role within a digital marketing agency.

• A good understanding of digital marketing channels, particularly SEO, PPC and paid media, alongside broader digital services.

• Experience managing multiple client relationships and coordinating internal delivery teams.

• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to spot opportunities for account growth.

• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with senior client stakeholders.

• A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.

• The ability to balance the bigger picture with the detail needed to keep things running smoothly.

• A genuine interest in helping an agency and its clients succeed.

You do not need to be a technical specialist, what matters is that you understand how they work together, can hold confident conversations with clients and know how to get the best from the specialists around you.
