Account Manager

Boden Group

An experienced Account Manager (Hard FM) is required to lead engineering and maintenance services across a highly regulated site in Oxford. The environment includes manufacturing, clean rooms, laboratories, offices and critical plant areas.
You'll take ownership of a c.£2.5m Hard FM operation, leading the on-site engineering team while managing client relationships, compliance, commercial performance and service delivery. A strong engineering background is highly valued, while pharmaceutical experience is desirable rather than essential.
The Role
As the Account Manager, you'll:
  • Lead Hard FM delivery across manufacturing, laboratory, clean room and plant environments.
  • Manage PPM and reactive maintenance, ensuring accurate real-time CAFM records.
  • Build strong client relationships as the primary on-site operational contact.
  • Drive contractual performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs and compliance requirements.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, WIP, debt, invoicing and overall financial performance.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering and facilities management team.
  • Oversee statutory compliance, permits, risk management and specialist subcontractor performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement while protecting asset reliability and operational availability.
About You
To be successful as the Account Manager, you'll have:
  • Significant Hard FM management experience within technically complex environments.
  • A recognised Hard FM technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience progressing from an engineering or technical background into management.
  • Strong commercial knowledge covering budgets, forecasting, WIP and contract performance.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing senior client relationships.
  • Experience with CMMS or CAFM systems, with Maximo particularly advantageous.
  • Pharmaceutical, GxP or GMP knowledge is desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to pass Standard DBS vetting.
Experience within pharmaceutical, process-controlled or similarly regulated environments would be particularly relevant. You'll also need to participate in an out-of-hours management on-call rota.
What's in it for You?
  • £75,000–£80,000 per year.
  • Company vehicle or car allowance.
  • Bonus and additional benefits.
  • Permanent position working 40 hours per week.
  • Leadership responsibility for a substantial c.£2.5m Hard FM operation.
  • Pharmaceutical training and support for candidates from other regulated environments.
The recruitment process consists of an initial telephone conversation, formal interview and final on-site client interview.
