Account Manager – Electrical Wholesale

Interaction Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly respected electrical wholesaler based in Peterborough. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Account Manager to join their successful sales team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with experience in electrical wholesale or the wider electrical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth across a portfolio of trade and contractor accounts.

 

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to increase sales and maximise account potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
  • Building long-term relationships with electrical contractors, installers, and trade customers.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities within your designated territory.
  • Preparing competitive quotations and negotiating pricing.
  • Working closely with the internal sales and branch teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Regularly visiting customers to understand their requirements and identify growth opportunities.
  • Achieving agreed sales and gross margin targets.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, new products, and competitor activity.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and sales activity using the company's CRM system.

 

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as an Account Manager, Business Development Manager, External Sales Representative, or similar sales role.
  • Experience within the electrical wholesale industry is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A full UK driving licence.
