Why join Macleod Accounting?

We’re a modern, ambitious and growing practice, fully chartered & ICAEW affiliated, offering a professional career opportunity within a flexible, family-friendly environment. We’ll value your experience, welcome your ideas and give you the opportunity to genuinely shape the future of our firm.

Working Pattern

When we say ‘flexible’, we mean it – we’re open to a range of flexible working arrangements, including:

Part-time

School hours

Term-time only

Hybrid working (80% of the time in our Altrincham office)

One important point: this is an office-based role with some flexibility to work from home. You’ll need to spend at least 80% of your agreed working hours in our Altrincham office. This applies whether you’re working full-time, part-time or school hours.

We’re a small, collaborative team, and being together matters to how we work, support one another and look after our clients.

For us, it’s about finding the right person – someone who fits with our values and vibe and wants to be part of what we’re building.

Interested? Here’s how to apply.

Alongside your CV, please answer these three questions:

1. Why us?

You’ve read a bit about Macleod and how we do things. What caught your eye, and why do you think we’d be a good fit for each other?

2. Tell us something good!

What’s something you’ve done in your career that you’re particularly proud of? It could be solving a tricky technical problem, making a client’s life easier, improving how things are done or something else entirely. We’d love to hear about it.

3. What would work for you?

Tell us your preferred working pattern (days and hours), current remuneration and salary expectations.

We’re much more interested in hearing what you actually think than reading a perfectly polished, AI-generated covering letter. Just be yourself!

Please also confirm that you’re able to work from our Altrincham office for at least 80% of your agreed working hours.

Keep it brief – no more than 150 words per answer. We’re interested in your experience, your thinking and what makes you tick.

Please note: We will only consider applications that include both a CV and answers to all three questions. Applications containing a CV alone will not be progressed.

We look forward to hearing from you!
