Job Title:  Accounts & Credit Control Assistant
Location:  Halesowen - free parking on-site
Salary:    c.£32,000
Hours:     8.30am-5.30pm Mon-Thurs and 5pm finish on Fridays (some flexibility around the hours) and 1 day from home

The role:

• This position isn't completely Credit Control, but it goes beyond an Accounts Assistant role, but the right candidate needs both qualities. The candidate will have ownership of the banks and the sales ledger.
• Posting bank payments and receipts on Sage, using bank feeds and bank rules as fully as possible to speed up this process.
• Bank reconciliations, downloading bank statements from the bank portal as necessary to achieve this.
• Process sales invoices and credit notes on Sage, although this is minimal and only typically to correct a customer ledger. For information, sales invoices and credit notes are produced and sent via the Customer Service team, not finance.
• Produce and email customer statements.
• Produce and email customer remittances in advance of the direct debit collection.
• Process the direct debit collection once per month.
• Resolve any sales ledger issues with the customer, discussing with internal colleagues, as necessary.
• Chase debt via email and calls, escalating as necessary using CreditSafe to produce debt letters and ultimately refer to a debt collection agency when necessary.
• Credit check new customers and setup customer accounts on Sage.
• Obtain direct debit mandates from customers and forward to the bank to allow for inclusion on the monthly direct debit run.
• Setup bank payments on an ad hoc basis.

Key qualities we are looking for are attention to detail, an ability to solve problems and good communication skills, particularly with third parties.
