Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover – Fixed Term)

£13.00 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

A local award-winning organisation is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a flexible, part-time role within a supportive and well-established business.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately, payments are made on time, and financial records are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices and generating payments
• Reconciling supplier statements and requesting missing invoices
• Dealing with invoice queries
• Sending invoices to relevant departments for approval
• Preparing and processing weekly supplier payment runs
• Setting up new suppliers on Sage 50
• Completing credit application forms
• Producing supplier remittances
• Matching delivery tickets to invoices
• Monitoring and responding to the Accounts email inbox
• Providing general finance and administrative support as required

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role
• Experience using Sage 50 Accounts
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and work well as part of a team
