Accounts & Finance Coordinator (Part-Time)
Location - Shropshire (Rural Location) Fully office-based.
Hours- 16 hours per week initially. Flexible working pattern available:
- 2 full days per week, or
- 4 half days per week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, organised and proactive Accounts & Finance Coordinator to join our growing client based in the beautiful rural location of South Shropshire.
This is a key position within the organisation, responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of financial activities while supporting the leadership team with accurate financial information, planning and forecasting.
The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the business maintain strong financial controls and gain clear visibility of its financial position, both now and in the future.
Due to their rural location, applicants must be able to reliably travel to and work from our office. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Financial Administration
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero.
- Process sales and purchase invoices.
- Manage bank reconciliations and financial transactions.
- Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare information for VAT returns.
- Ensure financial records remain compliant and audit-ready.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Manage customer accounts and credit control processes.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
- Process supplier payments and oversee payment schedules.
- Coordinate factory and stock-related payments.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow requirements.
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning.
- Track future financial commitments and upcoming expenditure.
- Provide management with regular financial updates and reports.
- Monitor stock-related financial commitments.
- Support planning for stock purchases and replenishment.
- Assist with forecasting future expenditure.
- Help ensure sufficient cash availability for key business commitments.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, finance administration or accounts management.
- Strong practical knowledge of Xero.
- Experience managing payroll, invoicing, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident communicating with suppliers, customers, accountants and management.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Is highly organised and proactive.
- Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Can build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Is comfortable working independently and making informed decisions within their area of responsibility.
- This role is fully office-based in Shropshire, a rural location requiring reliable transportation.
