Must have’s

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of five years' experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting, tax and VAT regulations
  • Experience preparing and reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Experience preparing and reviewing personal, corporation tax and VAT returns
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Xero essential, IRIS advantageous)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to mentor, coach and develop junior team members
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

  • Experience working with agricultural businesses, farms or estates
  • Experience managing complex client portfolios
  • Experience improving systems and internal processes

So, what will you be doing?

  • Preparing and reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparing and reviewing personal, corporation tax and VAT returns
  • Managing a portfolio of agricultural and rural business clients
  • Attending client meetings and providing expert accounting and tax advice
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Managing workflow to ensure deadlines and budgets are achieved
  • Delegating work effectively across the team
  • Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Keeping up to date with accounting and tax legislation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes
  • Supporting the continued growth and success of the practice
